I know. Now instead of playing he will be in the rafters giving Elisha sloppy thirds.

I will be watching the Dallas feed, so if they talk to him I will post. I don't think they can though. And the Stars would have lost this game anyway.

Now Phaneuf won't be able to properly get his revenge. Oh well, I guess he'll have to snipe Avery in the press box, just not like Plaxico.

This is absolute horsesh*t. Unbelievable. The league has a highly anticipated matchup which would've been the beginning/continuation of a great rivalry, and they suspend the guy who was square in the middle of it indefinitely for talking. This is so far beyond ridiculous I'm almost at a loss for words. How the league doesn't want players/teams to genuinely dislike each other is beyond me. Also goes back to the idea of players always wanting to police themselves, and now they can't because Avery won't be playing. If he wants to run his mouth, the best course of action to teach him a lesson is to let him play this game and thus be held directly accountable for his actions, and put him in a situation where he's essentially forced to answer the bell. Also, I'd love to hear how the league tries to explain how those comments were suspension-worthy. The bottom line is we had a situation where this game could've actually had some genuine passion, dislike, energy, emotion, etc., and the league of course had to step in and eliminate any chance of that happening.

I'm tired of Bettman, I'm telling you. If he wants to improve the NHL then he should go f**k himself because he's not doing anything better. I'm losing it right now. I had a f**king bad day and was lookin forward to relax and watch the game and now Avery is suspended. He should be fined instead. Whatever, I'm out...**** bettman

Stars Owner Supports Avery Suspension
FRISCO, Tex. – The National Hockey League announced this afternoon that it has suspended Dallas Stars forward Sean Avery indefinitely, pending a hearing with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, in accordance with the provisions of NHL By-Law 17 and Article 6 of the NHL Constitution for conduct "detrimental to the League or game of hockey." The suspension was imposed following inappropriate public comments, not pertaining to the game, made by Avery earlier today.
"I completely support the league's decision to suspend Sean Avery,” said Dallas Stars owner Thomas O. Hicks. “Had the league not have suspended him, the Dallas Stars would have. This organization will not tolerate such behavior, especially from a member of our hockey team. We hold our team to a higher standard and will continue to do so.” |

I don't understand the logic of this suspension. This is hockey, you want a rivarly to be rivarly. WHY WTF would you suspend someone that's right in the middle of it bc he's say something to make it more intense. In the NFL if Joey Porter stirs the pot, their not going to suspend him, their gonna put it on the front page of the newspaper!!! Come on Bettman, wake up & smell the coffee you dumb ****.
