Sean Avery Suspended for Tonight's Game
 

TSN is reporting that Dallas Stars forward Sean Avery has been suspended indefinitely, pending a hearing with the league, as a result of his comments made before tonight's game against the Calgary Flames.

After the morning skate, Avery told reporters, "I just want to comment on how it's become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don't know what that's about. Enjoy the game tonight."

The comments were directed at Flames defenseman Dion Phaneuf, who is currently dating actress Elisha Cuthbert. Avery was previously in a relationship with Cuthbert.

Now that's funny ****, this is why I still miss this guy.

Well that is certainly deflating.. What does the H in NHL stand for.. Homo? I was looking forward to this match-up and now......... Weak!

Cowardly move by the NHL brass. They new Avery wouldn't be getting out of Calgary without some retribution and didn't have the balls to let him defend himself for running his mouth. Hardly surprising though, just another example of Bettman not wanting any emotion in the game.

I guarantee you somebody was dummying Avery tonight. I just lost any interest in watching this game.

Well I think this is going to be my last year purchasing the Center Ice Pkg. I just cant believe someone makes a comment and get suspended, it's absolutely a shame. I guess freedom of speech doesnt apply to the the NHL.
