Sabres Re-Sign Jochen Hecht
BUFFALO, N.Y. --- Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier today announced that center Jochen Hecht has agreed to terms on a one-year contract.
Hecht (6'1", 198 lbs., 6/21/77) played in 22 games in 2011-12 and tallied eight points (4+4). The Mannheim, Germany tied his career-best mark with a three-game goal streak from Nov. 26 to Dec. 2. Acquired from Edmonton in a trade prior to the 2002-03 season, Hecht has recorded 331 points (133+198) in 566 regular-season games as a member of the Sabres. As the longest-tenured player on the team's roster, Hecht ranks 20th in franchise history in games played, goals and points. He leads all active Sabres with a career plus/minus rating of plus-94, ranking him 23rd among all active NHL players. Last edited by chilly666; 01-13-2013 at 12:33 PM. |

Bah, don't like this signing. He sucks and will only take away playing time from Scott, McCormick or Foligno. Knowing Lindy Ruffy he will certainly prefer Hecht over some toughness.

*If* healthy he's a high production player. It was an interesting stat Hecht is second in puck possession, that comes as a surprise.
