Sabres Ink Patrick Lalime
Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with unrestricted free agent goaltender Patrick Lalime.
Lalime (2/7/1974, 6’3”, 189 lbs.) spent the 2007-08 season with the Chicago Blackhawks, finishing with a record of 16-12-2, one shutout and 2.82 GAA. Lalime is a veteran of nine NHL seasons, compiling a record of 191-148-32-11 and a 2.53 GAA with Pittsburgh, Ottawa, St. Louis and Chicago. He has also posted 35 career shutouts, including 27 between 2000-04. Lalime was named to the NHL’s All-Rookie Team in 1996-97 with Pittsburgh. During that season he set the NHL record for longest unbeaten streak by a rookie goaltender to start his career, going 14-0-2.
