Rumors, Rob Blake might be going to the ducks

I guess Rob Blake will be available at the deadline. The only place he wants to go is to the ducks.

Duck fans if you haven't watched the kings this season, this is the last player you want. He could be by far the worst player this year besides the goaltending.

This could be great for the kings if it happeneds. I am willing to give up Blake for just about anyone on the ducks. I hope its someone like moen, we need some toughness. Ducks can also have crawford for free...

King fans who whould you want for blake and duck fans how would you feel about getting blake?????

I heard rumour on Sportsnet that maybe the Flames are interested in him. If they can trade someone like Tanguay for him, unload some salary, and then let Blake sign elsewhere in the off season, that would give the Flames more room to re-sign Phaneuf, Husselius, and maybe Langkow.

I think rumours for many of the Kings veterans are going to esculate as the deadline nears.

I can't see why they would want him. They've got three top tier D'men in Neidermeyer, Pronger, Schneider, two VERY solid 2nd tier in Beuchamin & O'Donnell & Huskins bringing up the rear but still pretty good all things considered. They really have no need for him & unless he was playing for free, don't want or need to pay the salary that he's getting now (especially when you consider that they need $ freed up to get Perry under a long term contract ASAP).

This was talked about a little bit on the leafs station during the game last night. I guess Burke has shown some interest in getting Blake. I don't know why, but at least thats what is floating around. Ducks might even be willing to part with Francois Beauchemin and or Travis Moen. Couple other names mentioned were Samuel Pahlsson and Todd Marchant. Burke said he will be tweeking the roster at the deadline to try an repeat.

All speculation, but why would you even be talking about Rob Blake, when Alex Ovechkin might be available? Rob Blake has been horrible this year for LA.

The only thing Blake has done well this year is gain some PIM in defending their goalies, after Labarbera got hurt. Otherwise, he's sucked something fierce this year.

I can't see this being a move Burke would make. There's no reason to do it other then the slary he could free up by not resigning him. I guess it would depend on who was going to LA off the blueline.

there was a stint of maybe 5-7 games after they called a players only meeting where he played really well. he was all over the place hitting people, always jumping on loose pucks and played overall very well. other than that, he's deffinitely not at the same speed he used to be, and his play this year has been on the bad side. he does still have the mean slap shot from the point though! this may be why Burke is interested, who knows!

Thats pretty strange when player actually wants to join the long time division rival team. Blake had in his career a pretty rough games against Ducks.

Anyway I doubt Burkie will go after him. There is no reason to upgrade already strong defence.

Aside from him just signing a 13 year contract extension with Washington yesterday, what in the world would make you think the Capitals were ever going to part with Alex Ovechkin?

This doesn't make sense at all, we already the best defense out there with the strongest top four I've seen in quite a while (Niedermayer-Beauchimin and Pronger-Schneider).

Blake used to be good on the PP, but with those four there is really no need of him.
The Ducks need secondary scoring in a bad way, the real need is a legit top 6 forward.

The leafs and kings should make this deal: Blake and Maurice for Blake and Crawford. LOL
