Riley Cote status?

What's the deal with Riley Cote? Is he still under contract with the Flyers, & if so, is there really any room for him now that they have acquired a few other players? He only played 15 games all season & I feel for the guy. I hope he gets traded to a team that will use him for the role he's in the NHL for. He's a decent fighter & I hate coach's that do this to players, it's not fair to have a guy ride the pine basically the entire season.

Cote is under contract for 1 more season but there is no way it will be with the Flyers.
He played 15 games all of last year. He's going to play 0 with Jody Shelley already there.

Why don't they put him down in the AHL so he it least gets to play some hockey.

Thats what I was saying (at least to my homies) that hes only gonna get worse sitting in the press box. If they send him to the A then he can work on his skating and then when they need him they can just call him up.

I'm surprised he didn't ask for a trade.

1st of all....
The Caps could use him. But then again, at this point, the Caps could use Mike Modano as enforcement.

Secondly, and more importantly, I hope Cote gets a full season somewhere. Whether you like him or not, you can't deny the dude has more heart than most of the players we watch, and you know he's the kind of player who gets tortured by sitting in the press box. We as hockey fans deserve to watch these guys play, even if it's in the AHL - they're not as plentiful as they used to be.

He definitely isnt starting the season with the Flyers. I read a few places from the guys that cover the Flyers that Shelley is replacing him. I either see him playing in the AHL or placed on waivers with someone picking him up. The AHL is the more likely place for him. The Flyers are over the cap now, so they need to get rid of salary and Cote definitely will be one of the ones to go. He wont sit in the press box this year. I wish hed end up on an NHL roster, he is fun to watch.

Caps,Buffy,Minny. He will end up somewhere for sure but they won't get much. Might just be holding on to him to see what people will give them as we get closer to the season someone might over a tad higher draft pick

I dont know Killak but he just may have a one way contract so they cant send him to the "A" unless it's for conditioning from an injury and even then he has to consent to being sent down , he just may be afraid if he ever goes down he will never get back to the NHL ..

It'd be nice to see Cote playing somewhere in the NHL,hes not the best fighter out there but id say hes one of the most willing fighters in the league.
