Rangers' Ryan Callahan Out 10-14 Days with Shoulder Injury

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that Ryan Callahan has suffered a subluxation of his shoulder and will be sidelined for 10 to 14 days.

The Rangers captain suffered the injury in the third period of last night’s 2-1 win against the Philadelphia Flyers at Madison Square Garden.

Callahan underwent an MRI earlier today and was examined by Dr. Andrew Feldman.

Callahan registered his 200th career NHL point with the game-winning goal, while on the power play, prior to suffering the injury in last night’s contest. He has notched two goals in six games this season, and is currently tied for second in the NHL with 27 hits and sixth among league forwards with nine blocked shots.

The one thing im glad about. Was . 2 minute roughing penalties on this incident. Whereas if a fighting major was called it might of given the anti fighting people of the hockey world ammo. No fight cant bitch.

I'm no doctor but it looked like where talbot was gripping his upper arm and pulling down and gripping his lower arm up that may be the only bit

I think the Rangers should go after Talbot next time they play...he did way to much pulling, caused the injury.

You're kidding right? He intended to fight him and was trying to get in position to throw some punches and have an advantage. Yeah he did pull way to much...guys push, tug, pull, in a fight. It's called technique and strategy.

My apologies to NYR fans like Pesa who have to put up with fellow Ranger fans like this.

Ok sorry if I did not see this see this one from your point of view, but your clearly a Phillyfan....hence your name. I am not a Rangers fan "Sabres". When I saw this play on NHL on the fly it looked like Talbot just kept pulling on that same shoulder. If that's his technique and strategy then he's a f*#king idiot because all he did was hurt Callahan with no punches thrown.

pulling on someone else's arm before and during a fight to get position is part of the battle. it doesn't make talbot an idiot, it's part of the game.

it also isn't his fault that callahan got hurt...**** happens

If Talbot was "trying" to hurt Callahan, then why did he stop himself from throwing any punches when he saw Callahan was in trouble/hurt? Sorry that i assumed you were a Rangers fan, but my point has nothing to do with being a Philly fan, my point is its stupid to think Talbot was thinking, hey, I'm in a fight, I'm gonna just yank this guy's arm bc it's SOOOO EASY to dislocate a guys shoulder simply pulling on his arm.

For the record this is the first time Talbot has actually hurt an opponent in a fight

Obviously it wasn't intentional, but it happens (boulerice/boulton peca/konowalchuk may/stern.)
