Rangers re-assign Tomas Kundratek from WHL to Hartford
Hartford, CT - Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the parent New York Rangers have reassigned defenseman Tomas Kundratek to the Wolf Pack from the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League.
Kundratek, a 19-year-old native of Prerov, Czech Republic, skated in 51 games with Medicine Hat this season and had four goals and 19 assists for 23 points, along with 63 penalty minutes and a +8. The 6-2, 192-pounder tied for second among team defensemen in assists. In 11 postseason games, Kundratek contributed six assists, which tied him for third on the team in helpouts and was good for second among Tiger blueliners in points and assists. Prior to coming to the WHL this season, Kundratek was a third-round selection (90th overall) of the Rangers' in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
