Although on the face of it the trade is pretty good for the Rangers.
Nash is relatively unproven also doesn't give them much space with the cap

Also, with this trade, the Rangers have over $13 million in cap space.

Like what a lot of people have already said, this is a steal for the Rangers. I'd hate to be a Columbus fan right now, especially since (if the reports were correct) they could have gotten more for him at the trade deadline.

Rags win big on this one. I wish Detroit could've shipped Franzen out and some others for him. I think Nash will be more productive playing with the other skilled players on New York than Dubi and Anisimov will be on their new lines. Only time will tell though.
If New York gets Doan I am going to be sick.

Mother****! You mean to ****ing tell me that the Pens couldn't have made that deal? The Rags gave up next to nothing to get Nash. Would have been a great plan B since Ray couldn't get Parise...instead, he and Mario are probably out on the ****ing links again. ****!
God DAMN the Pens aren't going to win **** next year. Again. ****!!!

they gave up a bunch of crap with a first round pick to get a proven goal scorer. dubinsky sucks, its just the amount they gave up which CBJ went for. can he play in ny, we'll find out. Quote:

Nash is a superstar stuck with a bad franchise with poor teams year after year. I have no doubt he will flourish now that he has some talent around him, specifically a center to pass him the puck. I wouldn't be surprised to see him score 50 goals.

vinny prospal lol r.j. umberger lol derick brassard lol i could keep going but my point is made in new york he'll have brad richards and marian gaborik when healthy to help him flourish now that he is out of that dump in columbus and that he finally has nhl talent to make him a better player. |

I know a lot of people have been harsh on Nash lately, saying he's overrated, etc. I completely disagree. He's a stud, IMO. Now maybe he'll have an opportunity to flourish. Only time will tell....

he is a stud offensively, defensively not so much, but i do see im getting 40 goals this upcoming year with a legit center as hordibrusk pointed out. very good deal for rangers
