Raffi Torres Suspended Two Games for Charging
NEW YORK - Phoenix Coyotes forward Raffi Torres has been suspended, without pay, for two games and will forfeit $42,682.93 for charging Minnesota Wild defenseman Nate Prosser during NHL Game #560 in Minnesota on Saturday, Dec. 31, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
Torres, who was suspended last season, is classified as a repeat offender under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Accordingly, he forfeits his salary based on the number of games in the season (82), rather than the number of days (185). The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund. The incident occurred at 7:57 of the first period. No penalty was assessed on the play. Torres will miss games Jan. 3 at St. Louis and Jan. 5 at Los Angeles. He will be eligible to return Jan. 7 vs. the New York Islanders. |

However, it is kind of insane that Raffi has now had incidents in 3 consecutive games that were reviewed by the league. I'm not in agreement with the league crackdown, but it seems like he's having a hard time getting the message they're trying to send. He's lucky he didn't cause injury or I think they would have hammered him with a much longer suspension given his recent history.

Does Torres really deserve to be classified as a repeat offender? Nope, because
Jay-Zs last suspension was at the beginning of the 2011 playoffs by Quirky Campbell while playing for Vancouver. That suspension was complete BS and was just part of Quirky's way of softening the Canucks up for future playoff endeavours which, bye the way, they fought through until the fixed finals when Rome got that phoney unprecedented 4 GAME suspension for wee Horton hitting his head on the ice. Like Boston was last year, LA is the Leagues chosen team to win the next tainted Cup in a final against the NYR, but the Kings will need to gain more confidence to which the sycophantic officiating will do their best to prop up. (just like the Bruins got and laughably still get!). So it makes sense for Quirkys puppet to suspend a hard rock like Torres from playing LA while the League babysits LA into a prime playoff spot...similar script to a road of tainted victory... a la Bruins 2011. |

![]() It couldn't have anything to do with the Canucks being soft and mentally weak? Vancouver turtled under the Bruins physical play, also it doesn't help that Luongo has a tendency to cave under pressure. |

So WF, on Jan 7, which of the the aforementioned sycophants will your Bruins need to save them again from getting their arrogant pampered butts handed to them. Isn't it funny how when the officiating is on solidly on your bench, that team usually wins. To bad your 2011 Cup is tainted! |

if you really think that aaron rome is a key defenseman for the canucks, you're a fool. he is at best a #5 d-man and that isn't a key guy.
