Predators Deal With Rangers, Pens
Adam Hall to Rangers for Dominic Moore; Moore & Libor Pivko to Pitt for
draft pick Nashville, Tenn. - Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club acquired forward Dominic Moore from the New York Rangers for forward Adam Hall. The Predators then acquired a third-round choice in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft from the Pittsburgh Penguins for Moore and forward Libor Pivko (LEE-bohr PEEV-koh). The Predators now have eight selections in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, including two in the third round. Hall, 25 (8/14/80), appeared in 75 games for the Predators in 2005-06 and registered 29 points (14g-15a). The Kalamazoo, Mich. native has posted 85 points (43g-42a) in 234 games with Nashville since breaking into the NHL in 2002-03. Moore, 25 (8/3/80), posted 18 points (9g-9a) in 82 games with the Rangers this past season. The Thornhill, Ont. native has registered nine goals and 12 assists (9g-12a-21pts) in 87 career NHL games with New York. Pivko, 26 (3/29/80), notched 69 points (12g-57a) in 69 games in 2005-06 with the Predators' primary developmental affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. A native of Novy Vicin, Czech Republic, Pivko made his NHL debut with the Predators on November 24, 2003 at Colorado. |

I always thought Adam Hall was a pretty important member of the Predators' team. Moore is an ok pickup, but getting him and another prospect for a third-rounder? I guess Shero has some moles in the Nashville system. This is a mess for Nashville when combined with the Walker trade.

The Rangers still have to sign Hall, right? I think they picked up a pretty good player there unfortunately and all they gave up was Moore, a good fourth liner who is a fan favorite, but they have a few of that kind of player. Good pick up for Pittsburgh considering what they paid.

Whooo! Look out, here come the Pens! We'll be UNSTOPPABLE now that we've added.... that guy and.... whozit...!
Seriously, what's the oil on Moore? Useful at all? Shero building the 3rd and 4th lines into something above an embarrassment, and letting the young talent grow into the 1st and 2nd lines? |

Rangers obviously got the better end of the deal. Moore is nice fourth line center but with betts, and young players like dubinsky Helminen and Immonen on the way up he could have lost his job. Now they get another NA player with some size which is what they needed. does anyone know if he can kill penalties?

Thumbs in the middle
Not sure what to think of this trade. Two players for a 3rd round pick seems good for the Pens, but I'm not completely sure I like Moore or not. Seems a bit soft from the games I saw last year. Any other Ranger fans want to weigh in on this guy?

This is a great move for the Rangers along with getting rid of those stiffs Poti and Rucchin. About time the Rangers cleaned house and got rid of these zero added value players. Too much other talent that deserves a shot. Moore can't produce to save his life. He couldn't even produce in the AHL 2 years ago, after already playing in the NHL prior to that. |
