Predators Acquire Durno From Anaheim for Endicott; Recall Klein; Place Zidlicky on IR

Nashville, Tenn. – Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Kevin Klein from the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. The club has also acquired forward Chris Durno from the Anaheim Ducks for forward Shane Endicott.

Klein, 22 (12/13/84), has 14 points (4g-10a) and 45 penalty minutes in 44 games with Milwaukee this season. The 6-1, 195-pound defenseman has appeared in one game with Nashville this season and skated in two contests with the Predators in 2005-06. The Kitchener, Ont. native led Admirals’ defensemen in scoring (10g-33a-43pt) and ranked 13th among AHL backliners in points last season. Klein was originally Nashville’s third choice, 37th overall (second round), in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Nashville has placed defenseman Marek Zidlicky on injured reserve.

Durno, 26 (10/31/80), has posted seven points (5g-2a) and 63 penalty minutes this season in 34 games with Portland and Norfolk of the American Hockey League. The 6-3, 219-pound forward registered 40 points (20g-20a) in 57 regular-season games and four points (2g-2a) in 21 playoff contests with Milwaukee last season. The Scarborough, Ont. native registered 124 points (52g-72a) in 147 games with Gwinnett of the ECHL from 2003-05 and racked up 48 points (22g-26a) in 130 games during a four-year college career at Michigan Tech from 1999-2003.

good riddance to Endicott. he was the biggest waste of a player i've seen in Milwaukee since Ken Sabourin (at least he dropped the mitts).

Durno was pretty decent for us last year. hopefully he can find his offense again this season.

for you people in Portland... i'm sorry you're gaining such an awful player.

Burke is trying to change up the chemistry in Portland...and Durno is not exactly a great hockey player...nobody wins this trade.
