Cole Jarrett, who played most of the season in Bridgeport of the AHL, but also dressed for 1 game for the Islanders, has signed with Eisbären Berlin in Germany

He had 3 scraps in the AHL last season, 1 of them in the playoffs.

He was part of the entire Bridgeport team that got 1 or 2 game tryouts at the NHL level. I've seen him play in the AHL and he's not bad, but he's not an NHL calibre player. Still would be nice to have him remain in the organization though.

Kinda suprised to see Jason Marshall on this list. Figured he'd be able to keep an NHL job as he isnt a bad skater, can check and has a decent shot.

Why be a depth defenseman here if he can be a star blueliner in Europe?

Because you don't want to live there?

It makes sense to go to Europe given the choice you outline, but it's certainly not an open and shut decision.

Well obviously he would have to be okay with living in Europe, but a player like Marhsall probably gets a similar amount of money to be a top player over there, when he would be a healthy scratch a lot of nights over here, if he was at the NHL level.

I know that Keith Primeau is playing over in Europe this summer with the club that Sami Kapanen holds stock in. I've been doing some digging but haven't been able to come up with anything yet...

Kapanen is one of the major shareholders of his hometown club, KalPa. But it's sort of a small club, just went back last year to the finish main league, after 6 years in the minors (due to Timonen and Kapanen playing there during the lockout). Are you sure about that? I though that he was still injured.
