Phoenix Re-Signs Kyle Turris for Two Years
GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have re-signed center Kyle Turris to a multi-year contract. The contract is contingent upon Turris passing a medical examination.
“We are pleased to agree to terms with Kyle on a multi-year contract,” said Maloney. “Kyle is a top, young player who will make us a better team. We look forward to having him in our lineup so he can contribute to our team.” Last season, the 6-foot-1, 195 pound Turris appeared in 65 regular season games for the Coyotes, registering 11-14-25 and 16 penalty minutes (PIM). He established new career highs in games played (65), goals (11), assists (14) and points (25). Turris made his Stanley Cup Playoff debut in Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarter-Final against Detroit, scoring the first goal of the game. He appeared in all four games, recording 1-2-3 and was the only Coyote with a plus rating in the series. “I am happy to sign with Phoenix and start playing,” said Turris. “It’s been a long process, but now I am focused on playing and helping the team win.” The 22-year-old native of New Westminster, British Columbia has spent his entire three-year professional career with Phoenix; appearing in 131 career regular season games with the Coyotes, registering 19-27-46 and 39 PIM. In four postseason contests, he has posted 1-2-3. Turris was the Coyotes’ first choice in the first round (third overall) in the 2007 Entry Draft.

True, but D.M. would of caved into giving the kid more the closer we get to December. Turris has some decent trade value, no way a gm would let him walk for nothing. Especially with half the league looking for a decent center prospect.

Rene Bourque for Kyle Turris will be the first rumour IMO.
