Phoenix Coyotes Re-Sign Mikkel Boedker to a Two-Year Contract

GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have re-signed forward Mikkel Boedker to a two-year contract.

“We are very pleased to sign Mikkel to a two-year contract,” Maloney said. “Mikkel is a talented, young player who continues to improve each season. We look forward to him playing an important role for us in the future.”

The 5-foot-11, 202-pound Boedker recorded 4-10-14 in 34 games with the Coyotes last season. He finished tied for fourth on the team in plus-minus (+11). Boedker also recorded 12-22-34 and a plus-11 rating in 36 games with the San Antonio Rampage (AHL). He represented Denmark at the 2011 IIHF World Championship, recording 3-1-4 in six games.

The 21-year-old native of Bronby, Denmark, has registered 16-29-45 in 126 career NHL games. He posted career highs in goals (11), assists (17), points (28) and games (78) during the 2008-09 season.

Boedker was Phoenix’s first choice in the first round (eighth overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
