Well, if it was up to me, this would have been done a long long time ago. Of course it's nice to see my childhood hero play a few more with the avs. But this is the right choice, guess he doesn't think he can hack it anymore. I would think that 2 games in the NHL is all you need to find out if you can really do it or not at that age.
It's no secret how much I have loved this guy since i was a little kid. He was explosive, smart, tough as nails, and always rose to the occasion. I knew it was coming, was still a sad day for me though. He'd be a sure HOF player if he could stay healthy, one the best players in the past 2 decades of hockey. Of course considering the way he played it was never any shocker that he was injury prone. Thanks for all the memories Foppa. Glad you never really really hurt yourself in the retirement roller coaster.
