Finally he gets over it and announces his retirement. Guess he wanted to try it one last time.

I'm thinking he went about it the wrong way..

Instead of coming back and taking a regular shift, I think he would have been VERY effective as a power play specialist only....

Some innovative thinking there for a roster spot, but I think to have him on the PP would work very nicely... A regular shift, not so...

I am beyond sick of this puke and his will he /won't he comeback crap. Every damn year we have to endure yet another Foppa comeback rumor - guess what, you're done, you're washed up. There is a reason that you left in the first place, and there is no reason to believe that your glass foot is any better than it was the previous 8 comeback tours. Please, for the love of god, stay away from the NHL and quit torturing us with your delusions of grandeur.

If I have to hear about a possible comeback one more time, I am going to murder a hoard of deaf nuns - or track that Swedish meatball down and take a hacksaw to that porcelain ankle, ending all hopes for a comeback once and for all.

If you wanted to retire an Av, fine, then sign a one day deal and disappear. Don't pretend that you are actually going to give it a go, you self-indulgent prick.

Juah...like you, Bud, but it's just NEVER going to happen. 10-20 games? He didn't play that many in his last 'go' in the show. Someone mentioned Peter Forsberg getting cut down in his prime...definitely not, he is well past his prime, and has been for some time, now. The guy shot his load years ago. Now he's playing with a limp d1ck and just can't get it in her, these days.
Like the guy, and see how he will be a possible HOFer. Peter WAS a great player of his era, enough said.

I dont blame him for attempting to come back because who here among us wouldnt try like hell to play in the nhl or in his case see if he can still play in the nhl.

What I do blame him for is being a quitter. 25 games or so to go plus playoffs and he quit on his team. Be a team player and sit in the press box and be ready when called upon until the season is over.

No worries, he'll be back next year. Seriously though, enough is enough - I don't even know who is worse at this point - him or Brett Favre.

Trust me Brett Farve, then Roger Clemens, and watch this year Andy Petite.

I think he will only get about $12,000 or so for playing 2 games.

I can believe it. When told of the rumor that the Avs wanted to trade him to Columbus, he was heard saying, "**** that, I'm retiring."
