Boychuk and Jeffrey have at least been able to do well enough to keep up with those 2. Tangradi's biggest problem is easily his skating and hockey IQ, both are light years behind where they need to be. He won't be a Ryan Malone like we had hoped, and he will be a glorified AHLer.

However, I completely agree that his hockey I.Q. is what brought him down. His decision-making was his weakness, and also his willingness to play physical along the boards was also not his strength. Too many times I've watched him lose possession of the puck when he was along the boards. A big strength in Eric Tangradi's game was playing in front of the net (like how Ryan Malone was). He would do a great job screening the goaltender with his 6'4" body frame. His playmaking skills are impressive for a player his size too. If Eric Tangradi was more determined physically, then I don't think we would have seen this situation happen. |

Tangradi is a pu$$y and a huge disappointment. He's like a poor man's Brian Boyle, which certainly isn't saying much.

Maybe I had high expectations of this guy because polishkid88 bigged him up for so long but the guy certainly doesn't seem to have panned out.
Most people defining memory of him in a pens uniform will be him getting drilled by Gillies

Man I can not stand players who don't use their size if they got it, Nik Antropov. Makes you wonder how much more some of the smaller physical players would have dominated with that kind of size, Mike Peca.
Pretty dissapointing NHL career so far, but pretty hard not to live up a 7th round pick, could quietly be a nice piece for the Jets. |

Yeah we all thought he would be one of the better players in the NHL, let alone the Pens. He was in the Hockey News's top 50 prospects for 2 straight years. He just doesn't have what it takes and quite honestly it comes from the Pens rushing him up to the NHL. He should have spent a lot more time at various levels and never did.
