Penguins Sign Forward Tyler Kennedy
PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Penguins announced today they have signed forward Tyler Kennedy, their fourth-round draft pick in 2004, to a multi-year contract.
Kennedy, 19, led the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (OHL) in scoring during the 2005-06 season, recording 70 points (22+48) in 64 games. Kennedy led the Greyhounds in assists and ranked second on the team in goals. “Tyler has made great progress since we drafted him in 2004,” said Assistant General Manager Ed Johnston. “He’s a hard-working kid who improved his goal, assist and point totals every year with Sault Ste. Marie. We’re excited about him turning pro and look forward to seeing him at training camp in September.” The 5-10 and 183-pound native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario was the 99th pick overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. |
Watched him in the Soo for 3 years. Amazing speed, bullet shot. hopefully his size isn't a factor in the 'new' NHL.

isn't Kennedy the guy that slashed Scott Todd from the bench a couple years ago?
