We are going to play Carolina or Philly most likely, neither of those teams have a heavy dressed for the playoffs. Carcillo or Asham aren't fighting Godard and Godard isn't going to stop them from taking shots at guys. Its the playoffs, no coach is going to send a good out to jump someone. Against Carolina, Godard would be simply useless, like Laraque was against Detroit last year. |

To get to the cup he is the better play, time to come back to reality on here and realize its the playoffs and fighting is pretty much over. |

Satan should play at least on the 4th line. If his salary wasnt so huge I dont think you would see him in WBS and you would have seen Godard and Adams ridding the pine a whole lot. I dont see a heavy being completly useless though as you said above. BGL actually did a great job of starting of the cycling in the attacking zone. Without him Roberts never opens up the scoring against Ottawa. I can see your point about high speed teams but then thats when it becomes a problem.

Again, Adams is a great PK and it says alot when Bylsma has him out on a 5 on 3.
But I think your 4th line in the playoffs is going to be Talbot-Dupuis-Satan. Pens last year had 3 fights in the playoffs, Whitney. Kennedy, and Malone had the fights.. Laraque has more skill then Godard, thats why he had a better cycle game. |

Yes he has to go through re-entry waivers, but if a team claims him he wont be eligible for the playoffs so the claim would just be to prevent him from playing with the Pens.

You don't need to tell me to come back to reality - I've well aware that there isn't much fighting in the playoffs anymore. But come on, you can't honestly believe Satan, a soft-as-shyt floater, is a good fit for anyone's 4th line, let alone the Pens'? And I also find it interesting that after all of your going on and on about how great a player Adams is, you don't have him on your 4th line either. The only thing Adams does better than Godard is kill penalties, other than that, he's pretty damn useless. As polishkid said, he can't skate, pass, shoot, can barely finish a check...basically he sucks.

The only reason Satan was called up is because teams don't have to be salary cap compliant during the playoffs, so in essence he is a free insurance policy should someone become injured. Godard has his usefulness. He is hard to take the puck from because of his size and honestly belongs in the lineup before Satan. As for Craig Adams, he isn't supposed to light the lamp and he has done a great job killing penalties. That being said, he isn't very good 5 on 5, so if Satan displaces anyone, it will be Adams, but they need room for Talbot anyway, so Satan only plays if a forward gets injured or if Godard's presence isn't required (like for Carolina), but I'd play him against NJ because that's who they'll have in the first round.
