Well the Thrashers will get to scout him pretty good this Saturday BUT they have a surplus of defensemen.

Bogosian - Hainsey
Enstrom - Kubina
Salmela - Schubert/Popovic

and Boris Valabik is on a rehab stint in Chi-town.

Why do the Kings need him? They already have a pretty decent blue line.

Ray, the choice is easy here. Dump Skoula's worthless ass and keep Engelland up here as the 7th D-man.

He has a 1 way contract and he won't make it through waivers now. So either a deal or him being are 7th will be most likely now. Also Disco Dan was raving about him and seems to maybe have finally knocked SKoula from the 7th place on the depth chart. GOD I HOPE is my thought on that matter...
If they send him down before he plays a certain amount of games he won't have to go through waivers

What has Skoula done wrong at all this season? I think he's been a very productive fill-in for the team. He's done more right than wrong, imo.

Let's see...he's slow, never hits anyone, sucks in his own zone, got abused by a defenseman of all people, handles the puck like a hand grenade which results in turnover after turnover. Other than that, he's been great!

I remember when most Penguins fans use to hate Scuderi too, and eventually he won most of us over, gd i hope Skoula can do the same thing.

Skoula has been extremely solid. He's been fine in his own end, he can make solid outlet passes, and he's looked good on special teams situations, and he even chipped in a goal the other night. I think a lot of people hear too many negative things about players that when they play for their team, they don't give him a chance.

No, this is based on what I have seen with my own eyes. He chipped in a goal and played OK on Monday night, I'll give him that, but for the most part, he has not been "extremely solid." The sooner he's out of the lineup, the better off the team will be.

Pens top D pairing vs Ottawa:

Sergei Gonchar - Deryk Engelland

Who woulda thunk it?

I think Bylsma and Shero really like Engelland...

He's in the mold of a young Brooks Orpik. Who was Gonch's regular partner. This is good for us for the future.

It might have been one of the games out west where he had 3 giveaways and all lead to goals. Not to mention when I went Saturday I watched him pass the puck to no one, the other team, or give it away horribly. Skoula can skate and has a shot but you cant use either if you suck at getting out of your own end.

Id rather have Nasserdine or Melichar then Skoula. IMO.

AND the Sens score and who dosen't clear the crease???? ****ING SKOULA!

That first statement is just beyond stupid. Secondly, not defending Skoula on this one, but seriously, what Pens do clear the crease ever? The Pens D spends more time screening Fleury than helping get people out of the way.

Engelland's -4 won't go over too well with them tonight. But, really, everyone played like horse sh-t tonight.

Engelland has a bit of a rough game turning over the puck a few times and screeing Fleury on the one goal by Phillips. This might of been Derek's worst game with the Pens so far. Minus 4 ouch!

I think the game where Skoula turned the puck over 3 times that led to goals was the N.J. game last Thursday. You guys notice how timid he is in the corners too? Maybe it was just tonights game but it was definitely the case. Yeah Engelland didn't have a good game tonight but no one really did. I wouldn't be opposed to Engelland or Lovejoy becoming the Pens 7th D man. Anyone but Skoula. Waivers, waivers, waivers.
