Penguins Recall Engelland

http://community.citizensvoice.com/b...game-11-6.aspx

A personnel note first: Noticed Deryk Engelland receiving congratulations in the locker room after tonight's game. I was talking to Ryan Bayda at the time, and by the time that conversation was over, Engelland was out the door. The only time a hockey player receives congratulations is if he's called up or his wife had a baby. I hadn't heard anything about Mrs. Engelland expecting, so ... Anyway, it was confirmed a short time later that Engelland has in fact been called up. I don't know, however, who he will be filling in for, if anyone.

I think Gogo might be banged up alittle. Nice to see Engelland get the first call up.

Congrats to this guy. He's always played on rival teams (as a phantoms fan) but I liked what i saw out of him as a Hershey Bear and as a Pen.

It's nice that they'll have someone to fight the "as need arises" fights, now that Godard is stuck/placed in the Heavyweight deterrent, sit the bench mode.

This is great for Deryk, I love it when minor leaguers finally get to play in the big rink, let's hope his first NHL game provides a chance to make it a memorable one.

He should have been recalled when Gonchar got hurt, so that I wouldn't have to watch Martin Skoula suck every night. But if it's true Goligoski is banged up...oh well, why not? Just another injured key player to potentially derail our season.

The Pens lack toughness on the blue line. Engelland can remedy that. Shero is making a statement by bringing up Engelland instead of someone like Loveyjoy.

If they just wanted someone to step in for Goligoski or another injury, Loveyjoy (or Chris Lee) would be the guy. This is good news for fight fans as well. Engelland knows fighting is a key component to this callup. Expect him to have a Bissonnette type attitude taking on all-comers and trying to pad his FM totals to solidify his spot.

Engelland vs Staubitz tonight?

Lots of Pens are battling the Flu and Mark Eaton was one but also Skoula sucking might be a reason why he was called up. I have not heard Go-Go being banged up or even battling the flu so I wouldnt rush to judgement with that. Anyway I dont see him playing tonight unless Eaton can't go.

Just a honest question, Why would they recall him to sit him out?

They recalled Mark Letestu a few days ago, and then sent him down a day later.

If they sit anyone, I'd sit Letang. He's played like dog**** for the past week, especially in the defensive zone. Honestly, I thought Skoula has played pretty well. He hasn't made any major blunders, he gets good position to cut guys off along the boards, and he can make an outlet pass which is something that not too many of our d-men can do. Surprised they called up Engelland though.

Watch this clip with the sound on... the announcer is obviously a WBS/Engelland fan. This oughta get you psyched for the Engelland recall, eh?

YouTube- McLeod vs Engelland

Totally correct. That right misses. Guy goes down from arm injury not punch. But still good to see this guy called up. Awsome announcer.
