The
Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned 23 players to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL) and three players to their respective junior teams, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
Those players who were assigned to WBS include forwards
Beau Bennett, Brian Gibbons,
Tom Kuhnhackl,
Jayson Megna,
Adam Payerl,
Zach Sill,
Paul Thompson,
Dominik Uher,
Keven Veilleux,
Philippe Dupuis,
Benn Ferriero,
Riley Holzapfel,
Warren Peters and
Trevor Smith; defensemen
Simon Despres,
Brian Dumoulin,
Reid McNeill,
Joe Morrow,
Philip Samuelsson,
Carl Sneep,
Alex Grant and
Dylan Reese; and goaltender
Patrick Killeen.
The following three defensemen have been assigned to their respective junior teams –
Scott Harrington and
Olli Maatta to the
London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and
Derrick Pouliot to the
Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League (WHL).
