Penguins Acquire Hal Gill
The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired defenseman Hal Gill from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2008 Entry Draft and a fifth-round pick in the 2009 Entry Draft, it was announced Tuesday by Executive Vice President and General Manager Ray Shero.
Gill, 32, is in his 10th NHL season and has posted 20 points (two goals, 18 assists) in 63 games with Toronto this season. The 6-7, 250 lbs. defenseman has played 771 career games in the NHL split between Boston and Toronto collecting 137 points (28 goals, 109 assists) and 731 penalty minutes. Gill has also played 36 career playoff games, all with the Boston Bruins, registering two points (two assists). Gill was originally selected in the eighth round (207th overall) in the 1993 NHL Draft by the Boston Bruins.

Fletcher's doing pretty good dumping the salaries he's able to move.
Although I'm not sold on the Belak trade, this was a good one for them, and it sheds a good chunk of salary. Gill should do well in Pittsburgh.
