Patrick Kaleta Suspended Four Games

NEW YORK – Buffalo Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta has been suspended, without pay, for four games for leading with his head to deliver an illegal hit to the face of Philadelphia Flyers forward Jakub Voracek during NHL Game No. 165 Wednesday night in Buffalo, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Kaleta will forfeit $19,621.64. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

The incident occurred at 4:58 of the first period.

Kaleta will miss games Nov. 4 vs. Calgary, Nov. 5 at Ottawa, Nov. 8 vs. Winnipeg and Nov. 11 vs. Ottawa. He will be eligible to return Nov. 12 at Boston.

I don't say he deserves his suspension or not, but this act is stupid.

..I was gonna say this isn't the first time he's done this. Guys like Kaleta are the reason for all this suspension bs.

Pretty embarrassing that know one on the Flyers addressed this issue on the ice.

The way the league is doing away with "tough guys", players like Kaleta can now get away with this type of stuff without any retribution on the ice.. so what, he received a 4 game suspension, do you think that is going to make him change his ways? People look at Cooke as a changed man, but give it time..he will strike again.

The softer the NHL becomes, the more these type of players will come out of the woodwork..

I thought that was a headbutt last night, but it happened so fast I wasn't 100% sure... another gutless type move in my book. He also ran Giroux well after Giroux dished a pass to a teammate.. no call.

Yeah, well... you can thank Laviolette for that. The guy has transformed the Flyers into one of the softest teams in the league. Honestly, I can't stand him..

No this is not embarrassing.Typo's happen now and again.The thing is what KP said was true.It's not just Philly.It's pretty much league wide.Everything is taken care of in the league office,not on the ice.That's why di*kfaces like Kaleta do shyt like this time and again.And that's more embarrassing than someone butchering the english language...

If it's true then the Flyers were ******* for not doing anything about it just like the Sabres were ******* for not doing anything when that homo Mezaros and a couple others mugged Vanek.

As far as whining about non calls... Weber runs VCR into the endboards and gets a penalty. Right in front of the ref PBR then spears him ... no call. Boo fukin Hoo.

The only reason I give a fuk about this is that Kaleta DOES do some dumb shyt that usually makes for some fireworks. This team has lost me. Good thing they paid McCormick 1+ mill to do nothing. They are one injury away from rivaling the Habs and Wings for the softest team in the league.
