SUNRISE, Fla. Florida Panthers Executive Vice President & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with C John Madden.

“John is a veteran player who brings to our team a wealth of playing experience having won two Stanley Cups with New Jersey and one with Chicago,” said Tallon. “He is a hard working and responsible forward who plays well at both ends of the ice and is excellent on face-offs.

Madden, 38, a three-time Stanley Cup Champion (2010, 2003 & 2000) has appeared in 867 National Hockey League games with New Jersey (1998-2009), Chicago (2009-10) and Minnesota (2010-11), registering 345 points (162-183-345) and 215 PIM. He appeared in the postseason for 10 consecutive NHL seasons (1999-2010), playing in 134 playoff contests with New Jersey and Chicago, scoring 21 goals with 22 assists.

The Barrie, Ontario native has won 50.9% of the face-offs he has taken throughout his 12-year playing career. Madden won the Frank J.
