Panthers Sign George Parros for Two Years

SUNRISE – Florida Panthers Executive VP & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has agreed to terms on a two-year contract with RW George Parros.

“George is a physical player who adds toughness to our line-up,” said Tallon. “He is a high-character, hard-working player who is respected by his teammates. We look forward to George’s contributions to our club both on and off the ice.”

Parros, 32, has totaled 33 points (17-16-33) and 950 penalty minutes in 413 contests during his seven-season NHL career with Los Angeles (2005-06), Colorado (2006-07) and Anaheim (2006-12). The 6-5, 229-pound right wing notched four points (1-3-4) and 85 PIM in 46 games with Anaheim in 2011-12. The Washington, Pa., native was a member of the Ducks’ 2007 Stanley Cup championship team and holds Anaheim’s franchise record with 812 PIM.

Parros was originally drafted by Los Angeles in the eighth round (222nd overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft and played four years of college hockey at Princeton University.

, he must have been massively overpaid to sign there. Good signing by Tallon though.

That sucks. I'd rather see Parros in a market with some rivalries.

Good luck Georgie.

Hope they play him every game. Doesn't deserve to be healthy scratched all the time.

Not bad, too bad he went to weak division though. Maybe this will cause a domino effect.
