Panthers Recall Semenov; Place Stumpel and Olesz on IR

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers general manager and head coach Jacques Martin announced today that the team has removed D Alexei Semenov from club suspension and recalled him from the Rochester Americans (AHL). The Panthers also placed C Jozef Stumpel on IR retroactive to February 6 and LW Rostislav Olesz on IR retroactive to February 8.

Semenov was acquired by the Panthers in a trade with Edmonton on November 19, 2005 in exchange for a conditional draft pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Last season with Florida, Semenov played in 16 games scoring one goal and one assist.

The Murmansk, Russia native practiced with the Panthers this morning at the BankAtlantic Center and is eligible to play tomorrow night when the Cats take on the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre.
