Panthers Re-Sign Dmitri Kulikov to Two-Year Contract
SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers Executive VP & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has agreed to terms with D Dmitry Kulikov on a two-year deal.
“Dmitry is a young, talented and hardworking defenseman who continues to develop,” said Tallon. “He played well for our club last season and he will be counted upon to be an important part of our blue line this year.”
Kulikov, 22, played in 57 games with Florida last season, recording career highs in points (28) and assists (24). He posted a career high five-game assist streak Oct. 31-Nov. 10, while notching a career best with three points (1-2-3) on Dec. 5 in Florida’s 5-4 win against Washington. Kulikov appeared in all seven of the Panthers playoff games against New Jersey, recording one assist with four PIM.
For his career in the National Hockey League, Kulikov has played in 198 games, all with Florida, scoring 13 goals with 57 assists and 113 PIM. Kulikov played in 22 games for Yaroslavl Lokomotiv (KHL) this season, registering six points (3-3-6) and 28 PIM.
The Lipetsk, Russia native was drafted by Florida in the first round (14th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
