The Panthers really needed this. Good pick up by them. Hopefully he'll dress often.

Good pickup. Florida has needed some toughness all year, and while Allison won't go with the heavies, he'll take on the MW fighters.

Trade off Eric Cairns and then a cpl weeks later claim Jamie Allison?
He'll play three games and then be a healthy scratch the rest of the season.

It's possible Philadelphia put in a claim...the team lowest in the standings who puts in a claim gets the player.

OK Mr. caps05 I think you don't even know who is Jamie Allison! Look his fight card before you start saying that he doesn't take heavies OK?

So far this year:

Matt Ellison
Martin Lapointe
Ben Clymer

Last year:

Darren McCarty
Steve Ott
Travis Moen
Brad Isbister
Rob Dimaio
Tom Kostopoulos

He fought some competition the year before that, but look at his trend. Fact is they traded Cairns, who can beat any heavy on any night and then picked up Allison who can't. He has a great and exciting style, but he won't beat anyone who is legit at this stage. This is more then likey an attempt to pad their roster before the fire sale begins in March.

Actually if you look at his fight card for his entire career he has taken on most of the Heavies of this generation.

Although he doesn't have too many classics on this fight log, ya, he's got some big names on there.

Langdon
Domi
Simon
Johnson
Belak
Marshall
Low
Cummins
Ciccone

very true mcdonald, but since he plays a physical/tough game there is no way the flyers put a claim in for him.

I'd usually be pist off that the preds let someone like Allison go, but it was a numbers game.

Weber will be in the line-up next year. hopefully they'll keep Markov to.

Yes Cairns would been much better fighter than Allison, but I just sayed that Allison takes heavies. Allison isn't the best there is but he is better than nothing right?

You guys are missing my point. He fought some legit competition 4 years ago and you are acting like he's the same person. TIE DOMI has a great card too but do we regard him as the same person as a few years back? Allison would be overmatched by just about every "heavyweight" in the NHL today.
