Oilers Reduce Roster by Five

The Edmonton Oilers trimmed their roster by five tonight, leaving the club with 27 players. The following players were assigned:

Assigned to Springfield (AHL): Devan Dubnyk (G), Taylor Chorney (D), Rob Schremp (C), Kip Brennan (LW)

Assigned to Regina (WHL): Jordan Eberle (C)

It's a given that someone would have definitely plucked MacIntyre off waivers, and Brennan is on an AHL-only contract at the moment... so this was only a matter of time.

too bad for chorns. im surprised that he didn't make it over smid or peckham this year.

I wonder if any team tries to claim Rob Schremp?

I think somebody will.

I'd be shocked if Schremp slipped through the fingers of the 1st team that can take him off waivers. The Islanders wanted him at the draft. Look for Schrempy to end up on the Isle.

i don't think the oilers would mind one bit. they have been waiting on this kid forever

I can't see Schremp slipping through waivers.

Teams would be stupid to not give him a shot at the NHL level, and see if a change of scenery will spark something with that kid.

That cluster **** known as the Oilers roster is starting to take shape now...

i bet the islanders claim schremp like stated above. the kid has talent, just was so over-hyped coming from london that it went to his head and he didn't try hard enough prior years to make the club thinking he was just gonna be given a spot.

It ain't over yet. The rumour is that Stone might have taken a roster spot, which would leave MacIntyre out. That's what Brownlee is reporting in Edmonton.

If Schremp does make it without being claimed from wavers that should tell him he has no future on this side of the pond , all the NHL teams have a crack at claiming him if no one does the message has been sent , next stop "EUROPE" !!!!!

Hopefully they don't have to score 5 on 5 in Europe, because he sure as heck can't...

or play defense for that matter.

Isles will def take him. You can never have enough Jeff Tambellini's you know.
