Oilers Recall Winchester and Roy
JASON SMITH & IGOR ULANOV PLACED IR
BRAD WINCHESTER & MATHIEU ROY RECALLED FROM HAMILTON The Edmonton Oilers have placed defencemen Jason Smith and Igor Ulanov on the NHL Injured Reserve List and recalled left winger Brad Winchester and defenceman Mathieu Roy from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League. Smith has missed four of the Oilers’ last five games due to a fractured toe suffered at Phoenix on January 29th and Ulanov is sidelined with a left rib contusion. Centre Marty Reasoner is day-to-day with a chest injury suffered during the third period of the Oilers’ 6-3 loss versus Minnesota on Friday, February 10th. Winchester, the Oilers’ second choice in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, made his NHL debut with Edmonton this season. He is scoreless with nine penalty minutes in 14 games with Edmonton in 2005-06. With Hamilton, the 6’5”, 215-pound native of Madison, Wisconsin has scored 14-6-20 with 85 PIM in 26 games. His 14 goals tie him for the Bulldogs lead, while his 85 PIM are second. Roy (6’2”, 214 lbs.) will be making his NHL debut with the Oilers. Edmonton’s 10th choice, 215th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, has scored 3-13-16 with 82 PIM in 45 games for Hamilton Edmonton Oilers Release
