The Edmonton Oilers announced following Friday's game that they have recalled centre Rob Schremp and Right Wing Zack Stortini from Springfield (AHL). They have assigned Robert Nilsson and Jean-Francois Jacques to the Falcons.

Oooh the Boogaard antidote...

Anyways, good to see another "tough guy" getting the call!
On the downside, JFJ got booted, is it to much to ask for to carry two fighters in the lineup?
Obviously.

Nilsson seems to have a hard time to stick around at NHL level.

Good deal bringing him back up. Might not win many fights but at least he'll drop the gloves.

Nilsson is garbage. It's good to have Stortini back though.

Good news - no doubt.

Like bustoff said, Stortini may not be a great fighter and he will probably lose the majority of his fights, but at least he's willing to drop the gloves, and he WILL fight the heavyweights. Certainly better than nothing.

The Oilers really do NEED to keep up Stortini for the whole season, because they need somebody to fight Boogaard. I was really pissed when both him and JFJ got sent down, but good to see that Stortini is back up. However, it would have been better if they kept JFJ up too.

Oh well.... at least Edmonton has a fighter.

Good to see Stortini back up. He might not be the best fighter, but is an active one!

With Stortini back up, tonight's Oilers/Canucks game might be a bit more feisty than last nights.

Interesting to see if Schremp can take advantage of this callup - he did not look in the pre-season for such a highly touted draft pick.

What exactly is MacTavish looking to get out of Stortini? Is he looking to get Storts to enforce? Did he send him down as part of a conditioning stint? Better his overall game in the "A"? I'm thinking MacTavish wants to get more contributions out of Stortini-as well as enforce.
