The
Edmonton Oilers have recalled defenceman
Sebastien Bisaillon on an emergency basis from the
Val-d'Or Foreurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Bisaillon’s recall was made necessary when defenceman
Ladislav Smid suffered brusied ribs in the Oilers 3-2 overtime loss versus the
St. Louis Blues on March 18th.
The 6’0”, 205-pound native of Mont-Laurier,Quebec signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Oilers on September 26, 2006. In 63 games with Val-d’Or, he has scored 12-40-52 to rank 12th in scoring among QMJHL defencemen and is sixth on the Foreurs roster. He has registered 30 penalty minutes and is +4 with 10 powerplay goals and one game-winning goal.
Bisaillon is in his fifth season with the Foreurs and the 20-year-old blueliner has scored 66-123-189 in 263 career QMJHL games with 194 penalty minutes. He scored a career-high 71 points in 63 games in 2005-06 to fifth in scoring among QMJHL defencemen and he led all blueliners with his 35 goals.
