Steve Tambellini announced today the
Edmonton Oilers have recalled defenceman
Alex Plante from the
Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.
Plante, 22, has played in eight games with the Barons this season recording an assist with 35 penalty minutes. The 6’4”, 230-pound Brandon, MB native has appeared in seven NHL games with the Oilers the past two seasons collecting an assist and 13 PIM. He has 28 career points (4G, 24A) in 137 games in the AHL.
Plante was drafted by Edmonton in the 1st round, 15th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
