The Edmonton Oilers have reduced their training camp roster to 35 players with the assignment of nine players to the Springfield Falcons.

Assigned to the Oilers’ American Hockey League affiliate are defencemen Sebastien Bisaillon, Danny Syvret and Bryan Young and forwards Troy Bodie (LW), Fredrik Johansson (C), Ryan O’Marra (RW), Liam Reddox (LW), Rob Schremp (C) and Viacheslav Trukhno (LW).

If Schremp still isn't ready this year, I'd say trade him while you can get ANYTHING for him...

This kid should be hitting his prime.

Very surprised about Schremp - I've heard he hasn't impressed many people at camp this fall. If anything, I thought me might at least make the final cuts.

He was supposed to be a big part of the Oilers resurgence this year.

He just doesn't fit with Cogliano, Gagne, O'Marra, Nilsson and Pouliot in the mix...

He isn't exactly your ideal 4th line centre in the league - he's not physical at all and he won't play defense.

That's what I see as the problem - if he's going to make the jump into the league, it is going to have to be as a #1 or #2 centre - he's nowhere near ready right now - Cogliano and Gagne would be better choices than Schremp to play there this season...

He was spectacular in junior - his development just STOPPED... It's wierd.

Schremp

I watched him last year in WB for the pens. Flashy , but not nearly as physical as he will have to be to get in the NHL. My guess is he will be a career AHL'er.
