Niklas Hagman Claimed By Anaheim
ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has claimed left wing Niklas Hagman off waivers from the Calgary Flames.
Hagman, 31 (12/5/79), has appeared in 707 career NHL games with Florida (2001-06), Dallas (2005-08), Toronto (2008-10) and Calgary (2011-12), scoring 139-143=282 points with 208 penalty minutes (PIM). Hagman appeared in eight games with Calgary this season, scoring 1-3=4 points with a +3 rating and two PIM. Selected by Florida in the third round (70th overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Hagman recorded three consecutive 20-goal seasons from 2007-10, including a career-high 27 with Dallas in 2007-08. The 5-10, 205-pound winger also appeared in 30 career Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Stars, earning 4-3=7 points with a +1 rating and 28 PIM. A native of Espoo, Finland, Hagman has represented his country in the last three Olympic Winter Games, winning a silver medal in 2006 and bronze in 2010 when he led the Finnish team in goals (4) and points (6). Hagman also played for Team Finland at the IIHF World Championship (2009, 2004, 2003, 2002), the 2004 World Cup and the 1998 IIHF World Junior Championship. Statement from Flames GM Jay Feaster
“I met with Nik last Thursday, when we placed him on waivers, and told him we have been trying to trade him. While some teams expressed interest, no one was willing to take on the contract. I advised Nik that upon clearing waivers we would place him on re-entry waivers and I gave him permission to speak with other teams. We are pleased for Nik that he was claimed and we wish him well. We feel we have prospects in Abbotsford who deserve a chance to come up and play, such as Paul Byron among others, and Nik did not fit in our plans going forward. As a result of this transaction, we get a contract back and we gain additional cap space, both of which provide us with greater flexibility.”

Hagman is probably an upgrade over Blake.
Teemu - Koivu - Hagman That will probably be a pretty potent line. Now the RPG line needs to start playing well. The Ducks will be hurting without Lubo, but Hagman might jump start their offence a little bit. |

Babchuk didn't come from Toronto. I think you're thinking of of Ian White (Detroit now.) Stajan is the only one left. Not a big deal, just saying.

I know. Clearly Anton Babchuk never played for the Leafs. He was acquired from the Canes for White. Hence why I see him as the only remnant of the trade.
