Nicklas Backstrom Suspended One Game for Crosschecking
NEW YORK – Washington Capitals forward Nicklas Backstrom has been suspended for one game for cross-checking Boston Bruins forward Rich Peverley during Game 3 of the teams’ Eastern Conference Quarterfinal playoff series Monday night in Washington, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 20:00 of the third period. Backstrom was assessed a match penalty for attempt to injure. |
Good thing he didn't get him in the chest.
4 games for that. |
You gotta be f*cking kidding me!!

Pretty weak suspension. Just trying to pussify things now after letting the Weber thing slide.

Of course if your Pilly, you can pretty much do what you want, watch out Caps, Bruins , Philly coming your way soon, and you will soon find out Schenn will use his stick more off the ice than on the ice, and he is allowed to leave his feet when he checks you, and if you lay one finger on him let alone check him in the chest , he will flop to the ice for Ref;s pitty, and yes he will return to skate on his next shift, well on the power play they just got for his acting job 3 games 4 times already , he has won best actor , Please please Caps, B's or Ranger's hit this joker and make it count, not the chest though it will cost you 4 games |

Too bad. Lucic smashing Backstrom's visor protected face on the dasher would have sufficed.

If you're going to do something to get yourself suspended at least do it while taking out that ****ing diver in Marchand. I'm not sure how Jackass Edwards copes knowing the thing he supposedly cant stand the most is the thing most displayed by a player on his fave team. But then he's a hypocrite.

I thought I posted that one for Backstrom while giving Asham four is silly. Why in the world would that be moderated?

Cross checking minor would've been good enough.

This is weak. It was a really weak match penalty call, and it's a weak suspension as well.
Sure, Backstrom was approaching Peverley, but Peverley was the first one to get his stick up, even if he was doing it "defensively". Backstrom immediately responded by getting his stick up as well and hit Peverley. Give him 2 minutes, 4 if he draws blood (which he didn't). No need for more than that. |
I cannot believe what murder these other teams get away with when they play the Bruins. :D, F-It i will take care of this myself. 911 Please :p
