No way Carolina keeps Ward and Gerber... one has to go, because after their performance this year neither one is going to sit 50 games next season... Gerber isn't North American, so he fits the Wings plans perfectly...

I would like to see Nabokov playing in Detroit, but personally I dont think goaltending is their problem.

Goaltending is only are problem because we only have Osgood and that won't cut it.

Osgood is mediocre. Always has been.Streaky/inconsistant. Goaltending is a probelm. Holland stated Osgood would make a capable backup. J.S Giguere would be good. Salary cap issue with him though.

J.S. Giguere is a possibility...especially because the Wings' coach Babcock knows what Giguere can do.

What would Detroit give up in the trade though? Burke will not send him to Detroit without getting something good in return.
