Nabokov will attend Isles training camp

Quote:
Goaltender Evgeni Nabokov is planning on reporting to Islanders training camp in September, Newsday has learned.

According to Nabokov's agent Don Meehan, the 35-year-old Russian netminder will attend as per his contractual obligation.

"Absolutely," Meehan said when reached by telephone Wednesday afternoon.

Nabokov was claimed by the Islanders off waivers back in January. and subsequently suspended for his refusal to report. As Newsday first reported last month, the Islanders will "toll" his $570,000 contract and retain his rights for this upcoming season.

Most recently, Nabokov played for Russia in the World Championships in Russia, and although he suffered a reported groin injury during the tournament, Meehan said it's "nothing serious."

I say he gets traded. He's a douche, and Poulin and The Big Cubano both have more upside and are much easier to cheer for.

Fuck Nabokov. He didn't want to come when they actually had his rights...bite me and rot in Russia.

The Flyers should be setting their sights on one goalie regardless the price tag.

Bryzgalov

Bryzgalov
Philly is too cold for him

Seriously though, Bryzgalov has already said he wouldn't report to Winnipeg if the Coyotes moved there. How is he any different from Nabokov?

Actually Ilya said he would not re sign in Pheonix if the move to Winnepeg in iminant, Ilya is a free agent an has the rights to sign anywere he feels, Nabakov must report to Long Island because he was picked up on entry waivers....

1. He's better IMO
2. He's an UFA

Nabokov was Philly's negotiating property and he turned them down when he was an UFA. I think it looks good on him that the Islanders claimed him. If anyone seriously wanted Nabokov...he would have played in the NHL last season. Go home...you're not wanted there either.
