Matt Kassian out for the season

Matt Kassian, who has missed the last several games with a "groin strain" is now done for the season with a sports hernia.

Well there goes the only reason to watch the last couple of weeks of this miserable season. Bring on playoff hockey!

I'll always remember his two goals against Carey Price.
No, I don't think we'll see him in the NHL anymore...

I don't think this is the last we have seen of Kass. Some of you guys that don't see a lot of him other than his fights may be surprised by him as a player. He has the puck skills of a heavyweight, but he is actually pretty good in front of the net, and fairly responsible in his own zone. He generally makes the simple plays with the puck, and stays within his game by grinding it out and not turning the puck over needlessly. It all depends on how he shows up for camp in the fall, but I think he could be a legit fourth liner that could chip in 5-10 points per season and carry the load of the teams physical play. And Mike Yeo likes him because he puts himself in position and gets chances every night. If Staubitz is able to keep an NHL job I can't see any reason why Kass wouldn't be able to.
