This is exactly the kind of stuff you sign an enforcer for...

Honestly I was expecting a lot more than a game since he's not a skilled player, and like someone else said, the one game is worth it.

Brendan Shanahan is a joke this playoffs

i cant believe that this is a one game suspension this play is right out of trevor gillies of the islanders playbook classless and shameful play and shanahan is condoning it as basically slap on the wrist these playoffs are going to get out of hand and in a hurry

so its ok for players to head hunt if your a senator but anyone else goes after your guys this crap from shanahan basically said your suspension is dependent on the players standing in the league the more popular the player you hit the bigger the suspension total bs and a big fail from the office of " Player Safety" this is a farce

I wouldn't suspect B.S. likes trolling on hf.com

B.S. isn't for what you think, it doesn't smell like....

While it's not that common of an occurrence, as NJDevils17 posted, this sort of thing happens in hockey from time to time. For a variety of reasons, guys get jumped and punches continue to be thrown while one guy is in a vulnerable position int he ice. Sure it looks ugly to the outsider who doesn't watch the sport regularly, but it happens from time to time. And yet, I never remember a guy getting suspended for it.

Carkner put his team shorthanded for a full 5 minutes in a playoff game, and was ejected from the game. That's a pretty stiff penalty that hurt his whole team. I see no reason to punish him further when there's no precedent for doing so.
ahh i get it your a trevor gillies fan arent you cheap shots have no place in the sport you want to fight make sure the other guy does to

True enough.

Just wondering, if you don't like this kind of old-school hockey enforcing, why are you posting on hockeyfights.com?

I hate the decision, but I'm glad they reason they give specifies that it was for the continued punches after the "fight" was essentially over. Hopefully that doesn't further deter guys from standing up for each other and their teammates!
how come it took him a game to come "stand up" for his teammate ? huh couldn't find a good enough spot where boyle wasn't looking for it? yeah thought so

all this did was encourage them to wait for a spot to jump them this is almost spot on as a trevor gillies move

I like a good fight. I the game i don't like people jumping the other by hitting them into the boards and before they have a chance to react dropping the gloves and sucker punching them. You want to fight stand up and drop the gloves and let the other player do the same that is all I'm saying. now i was out of line with the douche comment
