I wonder why battaglia and roy were placed on waivers, could it be an attempt to free up space or their not playing that great i guess it could be either one. anyways i like both these guys, battaglia was apart of that carolina team that made it to the cup finals in 2002 i believe and played great, so he has some experience and roy is a hard nosed d man. battaglia also played at the college i go to so im a fan either way.

Mathieu Roy has already gotten two concussions this year (Hit from Mark Rypien in preseason, hit from Jordin Tootoo).

Unfortunate, though, because without Winchester around no-one seems to want to stand in with Lappy...

Never understood why TO thought Bates would be consistent. From what I seen with the Marlies, he wasn't that good.

I assume he was a favourite of Maurice's from their time in Carolina.

After all the crap Paul Maurice, John Ferguson Jr, and the higher-ups at MLSE went through in the media over the previous three weeks or so after a slow start, it finally looks as though Toronto has it's priorities straight.

Battalgia, who was obviously on Maurice's good side since their times together with the Marlies and Hurricanes, Bates has been a complete bust this season with 0 points in 13 games. Toronto began the season off to a slow start and grew acustom to playing their weak-ass roster full of *******.

Thankfully since mid-November, Toronto has gone back to it's roots and started playing their brand of hockey. In other words, they went back to Wade Belak.

Belak was scratched for 24 consecutive days, where the Leafs piled up a horrible 2-7-2 record in that stand. Since the Leafs found their balls once again by inserting Belak into the line-up every night, they've now gone 5-1-1 in their past 7 games with Belak dropping the mitts twice in that span, including his first goal in 4 years.

Altogether in Wade's 15 games this year, the Leafs are 8-4-3.

Bate Battaglia - OUT
Wade Belak - IN

The way it should have been all along.

Carlo Colaiaccovo is expected back within the next 5 games, so the Leafs will only be getting better as the season goes on. They're on a role now, but that's making up for their crap-ass start. If they play like the way they've been playing in recent weeks, then add in a healthy Tucker, Colaiaccovo and Kubina, while Vesa secures the #1 spot, then I see no reason how the Leafs don't grab AT LEAST 8th or 7th place.

Roy cleared waivers - he's headed to the AHL

Maybe there is hope in Edmonton? Finally, a guy in charge who doesn't believe Lennart Petrell is a legitimate roster player.
