Maple Leafs Re-Sign Mark Fraser to One-Year Contract
Brian Burke, President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Monday that the hockey club has signed defenceman Mark Fraser to a one-year contract.
Fraser, 25, split the 2011-12 American Hockey League season between the Toronto Marlies and Syracuse Crunch, former affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, registering seven assists, a plus-15 rating (+15) and 67 penalty minutes in 45 games. The 6-4, 220-pound defenceman helped lead the Marlies to the 2012 Calder Cup Final, posting three assists and 31 penalty minutes in 17 playoff games. Fraser was acquired by the Maple Leafs from the Ducks on February 27, 2012 in exchange for Dale Mitchell. The native of Ottawa, Ontario, also appeared in four games with the New Jersey Devils in 2011-12, collecting 14 penalty minutes. Fraser has played 98 career NHL games from 2007 to 2012, all with the Devils, posting eight points (three goals, five assists) and 86 penalty minutes. |

I watched a bunch of his games live from Ricoh and he was one of the most aggressive Marlies along with Kelsey Wilson and moreso than Colton Orr. He should definitely get an invite to camp IMO. Orr should as well after all the hard work he has put in improving his hockey game.

Mark Fraser is a good signing, the only problem is that the Leafs aren't going to play him a lot in the NHL.
