Maple Leafs Assign Five Players to Juniors; Release Two Others from Tryouts

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Friday that the hockey club has reduced its training camp roster by seven players. Toronto's current roster (listed below) now stands at 51 players (29 forwards, 17 defencemen, and five goaltenders).

Forwards Connor Brown (Erie OHL), Fabrice Herzog (Quebec QMJHL) and Carter Verhaeghe (Niagara OHL), defenceman Matt Finn (Guelph OHL) and goaltender Antoine Bibeau (PEI OMJHL) have all been reassigned to their respective junior clubs.

Forward Matt Rupert and defenceman Trevor Murphy have been released from their amateur tryout contracts (ATO).
