what is the cap hit? wouldn't be surprised if the wings took a look at him, since we're looking for D-Depth, and we wouldn't have to give anything up to get him

He is coming off a concussion, and has had multiple of post concussion syndrom, so I am not sure how great his value is right now. Watching him play a bit over here, he is a decent puck moving D man.

As for the cap hit, I dont know.

2.75 for the next two years. not a chance he goes there. lombardi might just be doing this as a ploy to gauge interest by other teams.

Making some trade room IMO, with some help the Kings could make the playoffs.

This was tucked into the bottom of the Kings' ``road report'' yesterday, a quote from Terry Murray about Wednesday's trade deadline...

MURRAY: ``We're trying to put something together here to get a foundation in place with young players. This is the group I expect us to have on Thursday.''

Of course, the flip side of this is that Dean Lombardi makes the trades, not Murray, but obviously they communicate quite a bit.

Also, I have a message in to Dean Lombardi to see what the Kings' plans are with Oscar Moller, and to confirm that Tom Preissing has been placed on waivers. Just to clarify, being placed on waivers doesn't take Preissing off the team right now. It's a procedural thing that can lead to a roster move, so we'll see what happens over the next 24 hours.

Moller to Kings
By Rich Hammond on March 2, 2009 11:00 AM

Oscar Moller will be rejoining the Kings, most likely tonight, in Columbus.

Also, Tom Preissing was indeed placed on waivers this morning.

are you referring to player room or cap room? cause they got close to 13 million to spare with regards to the cap.

Player room, I think they should add a few veterans in there to help out the younger guys.

For one I would have like to see them move priesing at the deadline, even if it was just for a pick, but like scott said not sure how much they would get back for him.

As for other players, I wouldn't mind seeing moved..

Peter Harrold
John Zieller
Derek Armstrong
Esberg
Handzus
Calder

I know the last two have played ok this year for us, especially Handzus in the face off circle. But not sure how those players fit long term and wouldn't mind seeing if they can get any takers for them.

Dean Lombardi did said on nhl live radio that they will not be sellers this year, because they just dont have the vets to do deals like other years. Sean Odonnell is a vet, but he said he talk to Sean and he likes being a king. Dean also says he enjoys having odonnel in the lineup with the youngsters.

I think the oth moves that will happened for the kings are if they can move any of the above players, if not I think the wait for the offseason to make a big free agent move with their cash. The players offs this season, just isn't worth costing them seasons in the future. I dont see any of the core younsters leaving this team, even frolov!
