Its been rumoured Modin might retire at season's end, he's been hit by injuries so hard the last, what, 5 years? At 35 too, you have to think his days are nearly numbered, but he gives the Kings some added depth up front.

That is kinda brutal , but accurate.

(I do hope that he helps you guys during your playoff run)
lol! that was good man! i guess a plus is that he did win a cup with Tampa. it seems like both trades, Halpern and now this one, brought playoff experience and veteran leadership to the team. Lombardi is bringing in back up for the post season.

Kings roster moves are expected soon. One player up from Manchester, two assigned to Manchester. Players have not yet been notified. Practice just ended here…

thatd be something.

cliche is a guarantee down. a dman up is a possibility. but yeah... if clune goes down this 'low risk' and 'free' pickup of modin suddenly turns into an evil move for fight fans.

Oh Thank goD!!!

I like this, Moller shouldn't be on the 4th line, and now that we have Halpern and Modin, they can take that role with Ivanans... Until Williams comes back and then Modin can ride the pine!

He didn't cost anything and we can care less if he ever sees ice time. So we don't care. LOL... He might crack the 4th line wing until williams comes back.. LA is really deep right now and playing great. We don't need Modin..

About the Conditional Pick
From an interview with Lombardi

Quote:
Question: How is Modin’s health?

LOMBARDI: “That was a big issue. The deal is totally on conditions, and one of them is the health, how many games he plays and things like that. Unfortunately, he has been banged up and things. I think, given what we had to give up, it was a good risk to take. He had the knee, but his thing right now is a virus. Apparently at the Olympics, when he sat out at the end, he was in bed with an IV. That’s not structural. Then last night they had to pull him again. I had a scout in there. They had to put him on an IV again. So that’s just some kind of a bug. The fact that he was out had nothing to do with his knee. But he is a guy that’s banged up, over his career. Heavy guys who go in traffic, that happens. But this could be a good fit. If he’s motivated and he comes in here, he’s a smart player that can move up if he has to. It’s a heavy guy that, I think, balances out well with Halpern.”
