Washington Capitals winger Jason Chimera is the latest player headed to Europe during the NHL lockout.

Chimera has agreed to terms with HC Chomutov of the Czech League and will join Chicago Blackhawks forward Michael Frolik and New York Islanders defenceman Milan Jurcina on the club.

Philadelphia defenseman Bruno Gervais has joined Heilbronner Falken of Germany's 2nd Bundesliga.

Simmonds departs. Citing family reasons, Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds is leaving the Liberec Tigers and returning home, according to his team's website. It is not known if the racial taunts he received in the Czech Republic a little over two weeks ago had anything to do with his decision.

Simmonds' departure came on the same day of reports that eight fans _ who allegedly chanted racial taunts at the winger _ will be charged with disorderly conduct and defamation of a nation, race or ethnic group.

I think more and more NHL players are starting to realize that the lockout has little or no chance of ending this season. If I were a player I would find a place to play this season and let the owners sit on their butts(heads) and stew until next august. Let's see how many teams can go bankrupt.
