Or maybe they just don't like gypsies.

By the way, I like the American flag V12, it's a nice gesture.

Swiss hockey good?

Thats why they are 9th in the World rankings
Thats why I cannot recall any Swiss players having at least an good average carrer in the NHL (waiting for you to come with Aebischer at me) Oh sorry I forgot about Sbisa :-)
Or ****ing Mark Hardy who probably got hard on while collecting 268 points in 915 NHL games.
Guy went 0,29 point per game, thats Lemieux category. Woohoo Switzerland yeah!

chilly is very informed, Switzerland is a great hockey country. They are collectors of gold medals at every major international hockey tournament

and about what else you wanna talk while comparing hockey countries? About the respective countries own leagues? While all the best players from the hockey countries play in the NHL? Guy you are pathetic

next time you will be about to praise Swiss hockey remember two words. First is Mark, second is Hardy. 0,29

we're talking about where players have gone for the lockout...the bigger stars have gone to switzerland, not czech republic. idk how much more simple i have to make it for you to understand, especially the topic.

how much more simple i have to make it for you? how you want to compare it?
noone from Switzerland plays in the World, thats why they have all their ´´stars´´ at home

Everyone good from Sweden, Finland, Czech republic and so on plays in the KHL or NHL maybe thats why the quality of their leagues is lower? Clear now you Einstein?

you're still not getting the topic that was started on the other page...nhl players don't want to go to the czech republic because the play sucks there. it doesn't mean a damn thing that czech players are in the nhl and swiss aren't, that wasn't what was being discussed (at least by me).

Not to take sides, but in every ranking I've seen, the Czech Extraliga is rater as higher caliber hockey than Switzerland's National League A.

The reason I bet more NHL players are playing in Switzerland during the lockout than in the Czech Republic is, no offense to V12, that the culture in Switzerland is more "Western" than it is in the Czech Republic, and North American players probably feel more comfortable and at home there.

For example, the KHL is widely recognized as the 2nd best hockey league in the world. But other than players that hail from there, it hasn't attracted any big name North American players this season. That doesn't mean that the caliber of hockey in Russia sucks, it just means that players would rather play elsewhere for different reasons.

I agree, that's what I was thinking too...I was going to post earlier today that North Americans don't want to play hockey in scary Eastern Europe, but I didn't want to open up that discussion again.

Psst...

Agreed. Where would you rather spend an afternoon, Czech Republic

or the United States?

DIPietro has played and lost two games so far.
Riessersee is playing again tonight in Heilbronn with (Bernier)and on Sunday at home vs Rosenheim.
I think he will start in one of those games.
A friend of mine saw him in Garmisch against Kaufbeuren (DEB Pokal game)He told me he had a weak game.
He let in a softie and mishandled the puck by another goal. Kaufbeurer Fans laughed him out and chanting loud ''Fliegenfänger''
Fliegenfänger is a traditional chant in Germany for every goalie who let in stoppable shots.

I am from this city in Germany where Rick diPietro actually play! I really have to say this this guy is complete out of shape! It is clear visible he still have some health problems. Well I hope for his fans he will be recovered soon for the NHL level. I am wondering why he come here and stay not in the USA to practice after his injury.

By the way our ice is not worst. It is just in a natural look. The NHL ice is colored with white pigments to give better light reflections wich is necessary for TV broadcasting. But in Germany we are sleeping in many ways around hockey, as soccer is the unbeaten no. 1 here.

Yeah those ossuaries in the central europe are pretty scary looking. Ours in Kutna Hora was built in 11 century, they used to open old graves, chemicaly clean the bones and arrange them into various objects. The reason why they did it was they wanted to praise the dead back then. I was in Kutna Hora ossuary a year ago, I would lock up chilly in there for one week. Btw Marylin Manson wanted to shoot a video clip there but they told him no http://www.ossuary.eu/index.php/cz/fotogalerie-kostnice

As for the biggest stars going to Swiss or somewhere else the main reason why is insurance costs.. you can not argue that.
To tell you the truth czech fans are much more curious to see Jags, Plekanec, Krejci - own players than Girouxs..believe it or not

Stewart and Simmonds must really love wild dangerous eastern europe then.

As for comparing czech and swiss hockey...swiss hockey gave the World the Haseks, Jagrs and Pouzars, czechs produced ****
