Lightning Sign Scott Jackson
Quote:
Seattle, July 3, 2008 - Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell today announced defenseman Scott Jackson has signed a three-year entry level contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League.
"We are very happy for Scott," said Farwell. "He has been a huge part of our team for us for the last five years. He is a great competitor and will be an asset to Tampa Bay."
"I am very excited to have signed with the Lightning," said Jackson. "I have been working towards this and it is very satisfying to reach one of my goals. I look forward to the start of my professional career this fall at Tampa Bay's training camp."
Jackson, originally drafted 37th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Blues, is third on the T- Birds all-time games played list with 326 games played. He is behind Glen Goodall (399) and Tyler Metcalfe (333).
